So what do we need for next season?

Hopefully I'm not getting ahead of myself but what do we need for next season? Plus I'm just talking about players here!

I think the players we already have lend themselves more to a back three than a back four. I think if we persisted with the 442/4411 then greater surgery is needed to make that work and too many round pegs and square holes IMO.

I think we'd need a pacey CB, a target man (sorry Andy, you're just too fragile), a mobile forward (Defoe is good for at least another season or so and probably free) plus a new goalie and I think it fits us much better and the attributes of the players we have.

Obviously the front three rotating depending on the striker you play. A target man will want crosses with the others looking for knock downs (Byram needs to work on his crossing) while a mobile striker will want balls fed into him to finish, could work well with Lanzini in that regard. Antonio can just do what he does and that batters people into submission.

I'm with Johnson on this, the type of surgery needed to compete in the Premiership is I feel out of the current boards capacity.

If we are to progress the board have to go first. They are CHEAP in everything they do and how do they expect to go to a higher level when CHEAP does not sit alongside the Premier League.

Second and closely aligned with number 1, we have to get out of this arena. It was always too far away from a starting point to be fit for a football stadium. Cosmetic, and CHEAP cosmetic attempts ar that have not masked the fact its hideous in all aspects for the football experience.

Number 3 and the players and perhaps manager "problem" will be resolved dealing with the first change needed.

If number 1 stays as it is, expect the same season if not worse until something happens here.

The Board HAVE to go now, its beyond them, in all aspects.

First thing to know is who the coach will be. I'm resigned to it being Bilic, but I think that has implications for what we would buy. Although it's totally against my principles, I think if Bilic is here you need to buy ready-made performers - he doesn't have the ability to develop players fast enough.

I'd be interested to know who decides what we need, honestly. Because whoever it was last Summer completely misread the existing squad and the areas that needed looking at.

Well seeing the board are a bunch of penny pinching, 2bob, SPIVY CUNTS. Who like to invest in. Free be's, loans, has-beens. And never-will be's. It pretty obvious what we need for next season.! Regardless of how many times we bang on about it.

First of all we need to keep Lanzini, Antonio, Reid, Obiang , Kouyate, Byram and Fernandes.

I bow to others better in the know for signings but bringing in some players with premiership experience would be better than fancy foreign names. I think the Bournemouth lad King could do a good job for us and would still like to see Defoe back for 1 or 2 seasons, he still has goals in him.

We need a new Keeper, Centrehalf, Centre Midfield, Centre Forward. A new fucking spine basically.

In That scenario, we'd still need another right back/wing back cover. I like the raonocchia chapmat hull - looks tidy and comfortable.

Goalkeeper, we should aim for Pickford or begovic. Unless we can get Leicester to part with schmeichel or Southampton of Forster.

In defence I'd put Reid on the right and fonte in the middle - wih burke and Oxford and Collins in reserve and someone more commanding and confident behind them, that would be fine

Up top is key - Defoe is a no brained on a free though I don't expect him to hit the same heights again. His goals have dried up his season and I think the last 18 months have been his Indian summer.

Gabbiadini is very good all round - would Southampton sell him if they could make a tidy profit in 6 months? I'd be up for that.

We also need better options out wide and impact through the middle - we should have got redmond last year, perhaps gray from Leicester or Tralee as some young talent.

Overall goalie and two strikers a must, right sided defensive cover
And more pace throughout

Snodgrass, feghouli, calleri, Carroll can all go as far as I'm concerned
